Magnificent Cabernet fruit and French oak combine to make this supple, complex wine. Rich, slightly stalky flavours turn into classic cigarbox characters and will become even more intriguing and complex in the years to come.
Beautiful scarlet-red. The bouquet reeks of classic Cabernet, loaded with jammy redcurrants, leafy blackcurrants and a lick of French oak.
It is amazing to get a maturing red wine built for the long haul as a new release at seven years of age. This is a true “claret” style Cabernet, lightly dancing along the palate with its medium-bodied structure, but with powerful fruit intensity and a gentle tannin grip. The balance is impeccable. There is a suppleness and satiny texture to the tannins and a bracing acid finish. This wine will have a long and glorious future.
