ARTIST INFO

Blue Manna with special guest Dave Hole

Blue Manna is a dynamic blues/rock outfit featuring legends of the Perth live music scene, including Mick Glendinning (bass/vocals), Glen Whisson (guitar/vocals), Marlene Hay (sax/keys), and Warren Hall (drums). The band lists its influences as BB King, early Fleetwood Mac, Cream, Elmore James, Hendrix, Muddy Waters and the earlier blues pioneers of the 20th Century.

Once again, the band is delighted to be joined by international blues maestro Dave Hole (guitar/vocals).

Dave Hole is Australia’s premier bluesman and world-renowned slide guitar virtuoso. He burst onto the international scene when his first album, “Short Fuse Blues” was picked up by America’s most prestigious blues label, the Chicago- based Alligator Records. Metallica's Kirk Hammett named Dave as one of his favourite guitarists, saying "His slide playing kills me". With 10 critically acclaimed albums and numerous awards under his belt, Dave is regarded as one of the all-time slide guitar greats. Don't miss this opportunity to hear DAVE HOLE live with Blue Manna!

The Slowhand Band

The Slowhand Band is a collaboration between some of Perth’s most highly regarded blues musicians. Their goal has been to create a comprehensive collection of Eric Clapton’s music over the first forty years of his career (1964-2004), featuring songs from the Yardbirds, John Mayall’s Blues Breakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & the Dominos and his solo career. The band name comes from Clapton’s nickname ‘Slowhand’ which was allegedly given to him by the manager of the Yardbirds because he often broke a string on stage and the band would have to stop whilst he re-strung his guitar during which time the audience would begin a slow-handclap until the band recommenced.

Andrew McIlroy, guitarist, vocalist and Vice President of the Perth Blues Club is well known for his blues guitar work over more than 30 years working in this genre. For 20 of those years he has performed with Alan Dawson, one of the hardest working bassists in town and a massive fan of Jack Bruce (Cream). Andrew and Alan are joined by Frank Shinell who has been drumming since the dawn of time and Luke Savage on keyboards whose job it is to keep the other three honest.

The Slowhand Band will take you through a massive catalogue of hits, including the unplugged years, that will not disappoint the most ardent EC fan or blues fanatic.

Biscuit & Slim

This dynamic duo transcends borders and genres, hailing from different corners of the globe, their collaboration is a testament to the unifying power of music. Together, Biscuit & Slim create a musical synergy that is nothing short of electrifying. Slim, no stranger to the local blues music scene, is a true purveyor of traditional blues, fresh off the boat in the Land Down Under from upstate New York. Combined with Biscuit's powerful vocals, these two woman are a performance not to be missed!
